Thank you for expressing your interest in attending a weekend retreat in Pt. Elliot. Following other successful retreats ALBUM MEMORIES will be hosting it’s 7th retreat weekend to be held in mid Sept. 2009. Check in and set up time will begin from 10 am Friday (for those early birds !). For those who cannot make it Friday, check in begins at 8.45am Saturday morning ready for a 9am start.
The venue chosen is the RSL Hall in The Strand, Pt. Elliot which will accommodate around 20 people.
Optional workshops will be held at ALBUM MEMORIES, a 7 minute walk away. The choice of workshops will be advertised closer to the date. Examples of the finished products for these workshops will be displayed in the foyer of the hall at the time of registration so you can choose which classes you would like to take, if any. The cost for these will be kept to a minimum. There will also be nightly demonstrations or a Show & Tell session where you bring along a great idea/project/product to share with others.
There will be time to shop in the store and a 10% off voucher is part of the overall cost of the weekend,
set at $90. The voucher is valid for all transactions over the weekend.
Reasonably priced accommodation is available at nearby holiday units, hotels or in cabins at the Big 4 Tourist Park or Middleton Caravan Park. The units, and some cabins, can accommodate up to 6 people & are a stone’s throw from beautiful Horseshoe Bay- great for an early morning stroll to breathe in that fresh sea air & to perhaps catch a glimpse of the resident seal or a school of dolphins, maybe a whale or 2. Breakfasts are not generally included (except at the hotel) but the cabins and units all have kitchen facilities or there are the local bakeries & Café that cater for early risers.
Included in the cost is a bag full of “goodies”. Perpetual tea & coffee etc will be available.
The venue is wheel chair accessible.
As there is limited space it would be wise to register early. A $25 deposit is required at the time of registration & is non refundable after Sept. 1st.st 2009. You can register and pay by cash, money order, cheque or credit card. The latter is not available over the phone. Please make cheques etc payable to R. Kluske.
Full payment is due by Sept. 1st 2009.

What’s on in June?
- CLOSED Tues. June 2nd to Fri. June 5th: I will again be attending the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo over the long weekend in June. This event at Southbank, near the city centre, is well worth it. I will be attending 9 two hour workshops!!! over the 3 days to bring back new ideas & products to you. Two of my major wholesalers are providing full day trade training days prior to this where international tutors will show us the latest techniques etc.
- Following a popular ALL DAY card making workshop in May, utilizing the new “FULL BLOOM” collections from Rachel Greig’s ‘Darkroom Door’ products, we are presenting another session on Sat. June 13th from 9.30 - 4pm. Kits cost $30 & make 16 great cards + 5 tags….That’s equivalent to $1.25’ish per card. Fabulous value!! Other sessions can be scheduled but requires a minimum of 4 people. Cost of workshop time is $20 for the day. Other session times can be arranged in the future. Please let me know if interested. Samples in store to view.

Kaiser Craft: There are major changes here. July 1st will see the launch of their new quarterly releases to replace their current monthly collections. Each 3 months there will be a showcase 6 new paper collections with a number of co-ordinating embellishments, alphabets, stamps etc & new Beyond The Page projects. They will also launch their new magazine, priced at around $5 incorporating all their new products. Their papers will be continue to be on special: 4 @ $5
Out the front of the shop-
· There is now a pergola over the driveway leading into the store which hopefully will reduce the ravages of the weather!!
· There is also a display board against the brick wall near the shop front which will house the ideas & samples bought back from recent Trade fairs & Expo’s. Please take the time to check it out. I am happy to run workshops in the pages etc displayed by mutual agreement of times & with minimum numbers. If you attend workshops or purchase the products or kits to the various displays in store, you are welcome to take photos of the completed products.
· There is also a very nice, new table & chairs for friends/family who may reluctantly accompany you!! There is also a variety of magazines to peruse whilst waiting for you!!

Themed paper folders are now housed in more compact units with corresponding themed embellishments close by on pegboard displays. These will include heritage, male oriented, travel, black & white, swirls & flourishes & the Kaiser Craft range of accessories.The front room has more hanging space which is themed. A large area is now set aside for babies to teenagers (including school/ music/ sport/graduation & friends) Other areas include animals, nature, families, birthdays & special occasions. The workroom now sports new tables & “wheelie” good chairs for easy access & a fresh new look.
The full range of Kaiser Craft papers, especially the growing range of male/boy papers & embellishments. Many new themed scrapbook kits & packs that make it easy to co-ordinate your pages & saves a huge amount of time fossicking for matching embellishments etc... it’s all there ready 4 U.
